Participation in accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) helps physicians meet requirements for maintenance of licensure, maintenance of specialty board certification, credentialing, membership in professional societies, and other professional privileges. Click here to find a listing of CME Providers within Mississippi. In Mississippi, physicians must accumulate 40 CME credits within two years.
Physicians can earn CME at live activities. According to the AAFP, live activities take place in real time, involve two or more physicians, and provide the opportunity for real-time interaction between learners and faculty. Examples include medical seminars or conferences, lecture series, teaching, life support activities (e.g., ACLS, ATLS, BLS, NALS, PALS), and live internet activities. A maximum of 60 American AAFP prescribed credits may be reported during a three-year re-election cycle.
